The World’s Best Typography

Congratulations to Plava Laguna, The Typefaces and Elliptic, winners of Type Directors Club Awards.

Winners

The Typefaces ‘Today at Apple’
Scott Lambert’s poster for the typography event ‘Today at Apple' in Singapore joins the family of ‘Faces in Type’, a series of posters inspired by letterpress printing and childlike observations.

Plava Laguna
We mined Croatia’s rich culture for the new visual identity. At the heart of this is a typeface, unique to the country, supported by a colour palette inspired by the white and red of the Croatian coat of arms.

Inspired by the ancient Glagolitic script, dating back over a thousand years – inscriptions appeared in coastal areas of Istria, home of Plava Laguna, incorporating elements of the Glagolitic alphabet into their Roman counterparts.

Elliptic
The rebrand of Elliptic brings its purpose ‘Finding the Truth in Data’ to life. Negative space typography, inspired by data blocks, reveals the essence of the business – providing data intelligence on criminal activity on the dark web.

The winning work will be included in the Annual of the Type Directors ClubThe World’s Best Typography, and will be shown at the 65th Awards Exhibition in New York City.
