Marcelo joins the Cannes Lions Design Jury
Marcelo Bicudo takes his seat on the Design Jury at this year's Cannes Lions Festival.
Brazil CEO, Marcelo Bicudo, has been selected for the Design Jury at the 2021 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The global benchmark for creative excellence, the Festival celebrates creativity as a driving force for business, for change and for good in the world, from sectors such as Communication and Craft, to Innovation and Impact. Reflecting the breadth of disciplines across the global branded communications industry, Marcelo joins the panel of industry experts to award projects that deliver game-changing work, drive impact and move the creative needle.
With more than 20 years' experience in branding and in-depth knowledge of consumer behaviour, Marcelo works closely with the strategy, commerce, retail and creative teams, ensuring that specialists work side-by-side in an interdisciplinary approach and with an innovative way of thinking.
Marcelo studied architecture, has a Masters and PhD in semiotics of information technology and studied at Stanford University and Kellogg Northwestern. A former PhD Professor for 10 years, he helped to create the Design Course and managed research design laboratories at the prestigious University of São Paulo.
At Superunion Marcelo has been awarded for his work in design and architecture, both in Brazil and abroad, including the Brazilian Design Biennial, Brazil Design Awards, Wave Festival, The MAA Worldwide GLOBES, OMA (Outstanding Merchandising Achievement) and VMSD for Americas. He has also been a Jury Member for several awards.
With a global vision of strategy, branding, innovation, product design and design thinking, Marcelo has managed projects for unicorns and start-ups in Brazil and Latin America, such as NuBank, Rappi, Kavak, Avenue Securities and Creditas, as well as global brands including Telefonica, Shell, Vans, Mastercard, Heineken and Carrefour.
